Squirrel Investing offers advice on long term saving for your retirement, investing for your other needs and protecting your assets.

​The business was founded in December 2014 by Martin Chapman and is registered with The Central Bank of Ireland as both an Insurance and Investment Intermediary.

The Principal Martin Chapman FCA AIIPM qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Dublin, before becoming a Corporate Finance advisor with BDO Stoy Hayward in London. After doing a BA in German and Economic at Trinity College in Dublin, Martin joined Generali Insurance where he worked for 11 years, including 3 years as Managing Director and Financial Controller of Generali’s subsidiary in Dublin’s IFSC and 8 years as a Front Office Senior Equity Fund Manager with Generali Investments in Cologne, Germany.

Martin was a successful Fund Manager, responsible for over 20 Mutual, Special and Pension Funds with Generali from 1999 to 2007 with Generali Investments in Cologne. His funds were invested in European and Global equities and had consistent long-term out-performance against their benchmarks and received 4 and 5 stars from the S&P rating agencies.

 
As a Chartered Accountant Martin has given tax advice to pension savers and companies since 1984.

Martin is also a qualified Pensions Management Advisor, being an Associate Member of the Irish Institute of Pensions Managers. He has a Post Graduate Diploma in Pensions Management from The National College of Ireland (“NCI”), as well as Certificate in Pensions Insurance and Investments from the NCI.
